The Behaviour Chain

Post by Skittykins »

I wrote these documents for my partner who has a few conditions, one of which makes it near impossible to find a psychologist who is willing to take her on and not out of their depth once they do. She gave up so I stepped in. I'm not highly trained and have only done some basic actual training and the rest learned along the way and read a lot of textbooks.... anyway here's the main idea of CBT i guess presented in a form my partner can understand without having to see diagrams. She's been begging me to write it for weeks and she's visually impaired and can only tell if the sun is out or in when she's outside and has never even seen colour so most worksheets are a waste of time.

I hope you all like it and more to the point I hope someone out there actually benefits from reading my work. Bedrest for being very physical ill makes a lot of room for writing :)

This last one is more of a relaxed light hearted but useful thing. I do it myself before bed on a regular basis.

Disclaimer: I am not any kind of trained mental health professional. I have pretty extensive experience as an active listener for people in crisis and experience as a group facilitator including writing and hosting 1 hour discussions but that's all. Thanks in advance for reading!!

thanks for this

It looks like a good way for someone like me to relearn the CBT method maybe not relearn but more to refresh my memory on how it works
i hope others on the site look and learn from it
